Rancho Tierra Rejada, Spanish for “land of worked earth,” is the original name of the 2,500 acre Paso Robles ranch that is now home to the vineyards of Broken Earth Winery.  Broken Earth Winery remains committed to sustainable ideals, and to continuing to bolster the high-quality reputation of Paso Robles wines.

The Rare Scheurebe Grape
Scheurebe is a white wine grape variety created by Georg Scheu in Germany in 1915 as a cross between Sylvaner and Riesling. In Austria it is known as Sämling 88 as well as Scheurebe. It is responsible for many of Germany's sweet wines and one California wine made by Joseph Phelps.

Paso Robles - 200 Wineries!
The Paso Robles region has been growing grapes and making wine since the Mission period in the late 1700's. In the past 10 to 15 years the area has seen a surge in quality grape production and wine making facilities. 217 bonded wineries reside here but almost 60% of the grape production is sold outside the county.
