The harvest in California vineyards is complete. Overall the yields have been down from previous years but the quality is good and winemakers are happy.
There was frost in March and April followed by high temperatures during bloom. Then a rash of wildfires led to worries about smoke taint. Yields are down an average of 10% with some vineyards down more than 50% from last year.
