5th Annual Central Coast Wine Competition

The results are in and the wines are ready to taste at the Mid-State Fair July 23 to August 3rd, 2008. 
Over 600 wines were entered and evaluated by a panel of influential judges selected from industry professionals including those in wine production, sales, marketing and the wine media.
 
Entries were accepted from San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, San Benito and Monterey Counties. The panel of sixteen judges awarded  eleven double gold and fifty-one gold medals. See below for a list of the medal winners.
 

Wine Tasting at the Fair

Every Night at the Market Place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm a different varietal wine will be sampled in a tasting flight of 4 or 5 wines. Many of the wines will be gold medal winners. In addition numerous other wines will be available by the glass or the bottle. From 6:00 to 7:00 pm featured chefs and winemakers will be on hand.

Come by the Market Place on the southeast side of the fairgrounds and check out the California Winery Advisor.com Kiosk where you can find tasting room information and mapped itineraries to all the Gold Medal winning wineries.
 
Hyachi Produce, Central Coast Seafood and Hearst Natural Beef will be featured along with other produce and olive oil purveyors each night.
