The Russian River Valley’s 16,000 acres of vineyards include small family-owned farms and larger ranches, with some raising sheep, goats, cattle, apples, berries, and other animals and crops.

The cool area is ideal for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as Pinot Gris, and in the warmer parts, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. This 15 mile tour starts out in the redwoods near the eclectic little berg of Guerneville. Korbel opens early and has good winery & garden tours. You head east and then north ending you day with a glass of bubbly and a gourmet snack at the sophisticated tasting room at "J" winery. We have listed seven wineries but suggest you choose four or five to focus on. Check out their profiles by clicking through on their names.
