The Stags Leap District begins seven miles north of the town of Napa, on the Silverado Trail. Its northern boundary is drawn by the Yountville Cross Road with the towering Stags Leap palisades to the east. This is where Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the vineyard landscape making up 80% of the areas 1300 acres of vines. Barely a mile wide and three miles long, the district produces powerful yet graceful classic Napa wines. Here is a sampling of some of the top wineries in the area. Here is a tour that mixes caves tours, sophisticated educational programs and great scenery.
