San Luis Obispo has a Mediterranean climate with warm days averaging 78 degrees in September, and cool nights dropping to the mid 40's in the winter. The climate is tempered by marine air flowing directly into the Edna valley from the Pacific Ocean. This cooling influence creates an unusually long growing season resulting in greatly intensified varietal flavors. Rainfall in the region averages 23 inches per year with January the wettest month.
