2nd Chance Winery Description
The newest tasting room in Avila Beach is the marvelous concoction of Norman and Sharon Beko, owners of Cottonwood Canyon in the Santa Maria Valley. Their 2nd Chance Winery makes some delightful Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, both specialties of Norms, as well as a springy Riesling.
The tasting room is a cozy affair tucked in on a pedestrian path in downtown Avila Beach with 3 or 4 tasting room neighbors. The tasting bar is made from wine barrel staves and topped with a slick stainless steel counter. Randy is behind the bar keeping visitors entertained and educated on the wines. Outside is a small patio to enjoy and a nice place for some people watching while you sip your wine.
The wines are made at the Cottonwood Canyon facility in Santa Barbara County and mostly from fruit from Norm's vineyards. The cool Santa Maria Valley is perfect for producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Check out this new winery and tasting room.
New find in Avila Beach Wino, What a nice cozy spot to taste wine in Avila Beach. We tasted their new wines and were impressed. They were quite drinkable and full of promise. Randy was great behind the bar and the owner was present pouring and talking about how he makes the wine. Very relaxed and welcoming place.
