Abundance Vineyards Description
Abundance Vineyards is a family owned and operated boutique winery. The owners, Dino and Ron Mencarini, have been pioneers in the Lodi winegrowing region since before 1951. The family lives by the philosophy of “Good friends, good food and good wine bring about an ABUNDANTLY good time!”
Abundance Vineyards began as a custom crush boutique winery first setting roots in the Sonoma area and has now planted permanent roots in Lodi. The new winery and tasting room is located just a few minutes from the Lodi Visitors Center on Turner Road. The attractive Tuscan-style winery has heavy wood beams, flagstone floors, archways and a pea gravel patio, complete with firepit.
The two flagship wines of Mencarini Vineyards are the ever-popular Abundantly Rich Red of the Lodi Appellation and Lodi’s famous Old Vine Zinfandel. Both the Brick Hill Block and Bien Nacido Pinot Noirs are award winning wines with classic and elegant style. Mencarini Vineyards has also produced two different appellation Chardonnays, Viognier, Merlot and Syrah.

Abundance WineryWesurviv@cal.net, Sacramento I visited Abundance Winery on March 18, 2009 for the first time. Both Mencarini brothers were there and were friendly and helpful. Loved the Italian look and feel of the place. Bought a delicious white wine that was a steal at $11.00. Wonderful experience and will come back.

Tasting Fee DiscrepancyCasual Tasters, Elk Grove We first visited the winery during the Post & Chocolate event, then heard the tasting room had a grand opening yesterday, and made another visit today. The prices are reasonable, but beware, contrary to what is posted on this site, Abundance does charge $5 per person to charge, but that charge is NOT applicable to a purchase, so tack on $5 per person to the price of your purchase. We were ready to purchase but were told that our tasting fee would not be applied, so in the end we chose not to buy. Being the only people in the tasting room it was somewhat awkward, then to top it off, as we left the room the owner commented "that's it" as we walked out. Although they were not unfriendly, it is not likely we will return. The wines did not jump out at us by the time you add $5 - $10 additional for tasting, there are other places in Lodi that we frequent and get very nice wines for $20 (including the fee).
