Arthur Earl Winery Description
With its production facility located in Buellton, this winery focuses mainly on making wine from grapes native to the Rhone Valley and Northern Italy. They strive for big, full-bodied, fruit-forward red wines and whites that are fresh and easy-drinking.
The tasting room is located among the warren of art galleries and tasting rooms informally known as “Tasting Room Row” in Los Olivos. The large windowless area has a wine-colored carpet and a huge bar for tasting. Gift items and wine accessories are also featured for sale. Wines are sold almost exclusively from the tasting room and through their wine club.
With a small overall production, yet making a dozen or more wines, case production is small, with some lots between 50 and 300 cases. Wines are sourced from Los Alamos, Ballard Canyon, and Santa Ynez Valley, as well as the warmer climes of Paso Robles for their Zinfandel, Nebbiolo and El Pomar Syrah. In additional to their individual varietal wines, the winery makes a “Cote du Rhone” style blend, as well as a blend from the Italian grapes of Nebbiolo and Barbera.

Very nice winephanson, Woodland Hills My husband and I both really like their variety of reds, especially the Zinfandel and their Barbera. They also have a very nice Viognier and red blends such as one of my favorites, IL RE, which is a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo. At one point we were members of 6 wine clubs in the SB area but this is the only one we have not canceled. They allow free tastings for us and up to 6 others as part of the membership. You can also taste certain wines for nothing at their sister winery right next door, Alexander & Wayne.

OK Wine, Poor Customer Servicejesmarie262, Moorpark A group of six ladies, all in our early 30's, visited Los Olivos for the weekend. We rented a beautiful cottage and had a wonderful time, except for our visit to the Arthur Earl tasting room. A young woman in the tasting room was so eager to close (even though it was 5:30 and the room closed at 6) that she was sarcastic and down right nasty. We ended up leaving before even finishing our tasting because of her condescending attitude. Too bad... it's difficult to appreciate the wine when the atmosphere is toxic. There are too many great tasting rooms in Los Olivos to waste your time on this one.

Zinfandelshannon1, Los Angelas My favorite wine from Arthur Earl is the Zinfandel but I enjoyed all the wine here. There was a five dollar charge to do the wine tasting but it was well worth it because of the great conversations and knowledge I learned from all of the employees. It is right in the town of Los Olivos.
