Avant Tapas and Wine offers a unique culinary and wine tasting experience in wine country on California’s Central Coast in Santa Barbara County. With so many wines available, the only place they could find room to serve them all was at the end of a cul-de-sac in a business park overlooking the Santa Ynez Mountains. Avant is a happening place offering food, music, tours of the wine facility, and over 100 wines from local Central Coast wineries.
Avant’s sister and neighbor, the Terravant Wine Company, is a custom crush wine production facility that produces wines for more than a few dozen local wineries. Avant Tapas and Wine serves as the tasting room for those wineries, plus many more. They offer tours of the facility, winemaker visits, music nights, and other special events. But you can’t have wine without food, and Avant is incredible. Their classically trained culinary chef serves up a new menu each week using locally grown and produced foods that pair most excellently with the wines from the collection.
With a few dozen wineries using the custom crush production facility, on the right day you might feel like you’re in the air traffic control tower at LAX. Loosen up your neck muscles and be ready to watch winemaking in all different directions, especially as Avant’s 20-ton press gets ready to deliver the next batch of the elixir of life.
Avant’s retail shop sells over 100 wines from the Central Coast area as well as gifts, such as Avant-branded t-shirts and hats, corkscrews, and other wine tasting essentials, plus Avant gift cards.
