Established in 1994, the Smith Family pursued a life time dream and purchased 50 acres of vineyards just south of Calistoga at the upper end of Napa Valley, an area well known for producing intense red wines. The vineyard has its own Napa Valley characteristics of warm days and cool nights.
Barlow Vineyards' entry as a wine producer came about with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, which produced an outstanding full-bodied wine with marvelous flavors. Since 1997, larger quantities of wine has come from the beautiful down-slope vineyards.
As the vineyard continues to reach maturity, so does the wine it produces.
