The wines of BARRA of Mendocino reflect the 67 years of experience Charlie Barra has in growing grapes organically in the unique soils and climate of Redwood Valley. Taste the wines made by winemaker Jason Welch to find the layers of fruit, generous mid-palate, and the long, lingering finish on each varietal.
A second tier of wines is produced under the Girasole Vineyards label, including award winning pinot noir and pinot blanc. The small production, hand-crafted pinot noir and cabernet, called “59th Harvest” to commemorate Charlie’s 59th Harvest in 2004 (250 cases produced) round out the collection of wines produced by BARRA of Mendocino. All wines are estate and certified organically grown through California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).
The sprawling 5,000 square foot tasting room highlights 40 foot ceilings, a circular tasting bar, indoor fountain and gift shop. They invite you to bring a lunch and spend a relaxing afternoon in their beautiful gardens and picnic area.
