Baxter Winery Description

For the past 18 years the Baxter family has been producing wine from multiple north coast vineyards. From the philosophy that in order to make a truly distinct wine one must produce each wine within the region that is native to the berry, thus leaving the maker with an honest and distinctive taste specific to each wine. This unique approach to winemaking has flourished under the Baxter family name.

Their flagship wine, the Pinot Noir, is grown in Anderson Valley at their Toulouse Vineyard. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is grown at their Vaca Mountain Vineyard located within the Chiles Valley. Each wine is treated with the same delicate care despite the physical distance between each vineyard.

Using only indigenous yeast, specific to the region, the Baxter family’s approach to the wine making process is completely hands off. Although the wine from the Baxter vineyards is not organic they are currently in the process of certification. The wine tasting and viewing of the vineyards are by appointment only.

Was informed that the Baxter name has been producing wine in the region for nearly 20 years! Each wine is produced at separate vineyards to focus on the specific growing process of each varietal. Also in the process of going organic.
