Black Ridge Vineyards Description

Overlooking the majestic slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains, nearly sixty miles south of San Francisco and only three miles outside of downtown Los Gatos, lie eighty pristine acres forming Black Ridge Vineyards.

Black Ridge Vineyards has recently opened their tasting room on a limited basis to the public. The tasting room, located on the Black Ridge property, over looks the Lexington Reservoir and 22 acres of vines.

During the Fall of 2002, the upper vineyard was planted with 14 clones of 5 varietals. Two years later, the lower vineyard plantings were completed with 12 clones of 8 varietals. With the planting now complete, Black Ridge Vineyards consists of just over 20 acres of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.

It will be open to the public the third weekend of each month in addition to private tastings by appointment. Black Ridge produces limited production lots of 100% estate-grown wines. They specialize in Viognier, Pinot Noir and a Bordeaux blend, San Andreas Red.

Awesome!
expat.j, Los Altos
We visited Black Ridge last summer during the Santa Cruz Mountain Winery Passport. It is a newer place and though it is located only a few miles from us, we never knew about it. It was an awesome discovery! Very nice facility inside out. Wines were very nice as well. We were told back then that the wines were only being purchased at the tasting room. That makes us want more, doesn't it? I would definitely like to go back there soon :-)
