Breggo Cellars Description

Breggo means "sheep" in Boontling. (Boontling is the unique dialect used only in the Boonville area for over a hundred years.) Breggo Cellars has no sheep, but plenty of good Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc Frattey (wine).

The old 1920s Craftsman house and the random cluster of sideways-tilting outbuildings used to be headquarters to one of the oldest and largest sheep ranches in Anderson Valley. It’s now home to this petite winery operation that specializes in vineyard-designated Pinot Noir.

Breggo Cellars sources their fruit from nearby Anderson Valley vineyards: Savoy, Ferrington, Donnelley Creek and Wiley. They produce Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer from Ferrington, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Savoy, and Pinot Gris from Wiley Vineyard.

Lucy, San Jose
I really enjoyed my visit to Breggo Cellars, it was on the way up North for me while I was visiting friends and I felt no harm in stopping by for a taste. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and left with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to share with my friends. I found it to be an earthy blend of flavors with a crisp finish.
