Buttonwood Farm Winery & Vineyard Description
Just off Alamo Pintado south of Los Olivos is Buttonwood Farm, home to Buttonwood Winery and Vineyard. Originally a horse ranch, it later became a farm, growing peaches, pomegranates and almonds. In 1983 wine grapes were added to the mix, with the focus on Bordeaux varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot.
The bright sunny tasting room is set among the orchards and features many wine gifts, picnic baskets, gourmet food items and art work by the owner. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the gardens or just relax on the outdoor patio. The wines produced include Marsanne, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah Rose, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and some Bordeaux blends.

 Casual, fun atmosphere.phanson, Woodland Hills This is one of the most casual winery settings I have found in the area. I was a member up until recently. I really only quit because they give you 30 days to pick up your shipment or they send it out which when you live an hour and a half away, isn't worth the $20 UPS charge. Their wines aren't the best in the area but they are also very reasonably priced, more so than many of the other wineries. A good place for a picnic as they start you outside with the whites and Rose so you can eat and taste at the same time. My favorites are their Sauvignon Blanc, Rose (great with Asian food), Devin (white blend) and Trevin (red blend).

Beautiful and Serenehlwade, Tucson Buttonwood is a beautiful place to stop, have a picnic, taste wines, and stroll the orchard filled grounds. The wines are well made and consistent, with the Cab Franc being one of their signature bottles. The staff are very helpful and happy to answer questions about all their wines.

Sauv Blan n BlendsEagle12, Chicago Buttonwood is one of our stops on our first day of harvest weekend. Our server informs us the the Sauv Blan is 25% of all the wine produced at Buttonwood. The wine we tried was well polished and we buy a bottle. I am not sure about the reds, We all agreed that the whites are better than the reds. The tasting room is surrounded by orchards. On the trees that we saw were pomegranates and persimmons. A charming stop.

GreatWine Guy, Sacremento Do try the Bordeaux Blend, it was nice. I brought the wife and kids and we had a picnic on the grounds. We even purchased a few items from the winery shop. Nice stop.
