Driving up the hill to Calcareous Vineyard, you begin to get the feeling that you may just be driving to the top of the world. At the end of the steep road that leads you to the tasting room, you finally have the opportunity to fully appreciate the phenomenal panoramic view of the surrounding hillsides and vineyards.


Perched 2000 feet above sea level and three miles west of Paso Robles, Calcareous Vineyards not only offers beautiful views, but also provides a large picnic area where you can enjoy the views along with a picnic and glass of wine. When you can peel yourself away from the view to enter the tasting room, you will be welcomed by the staff to taste Calcareous’ wines in their intimate and elegant tasting room where an wooden L-shaped tasting bar awaits you.

Calcareous Winery has 442 estate acres of grapes and the limestone soil and varied microclimate allow them to produce Bordeaux, Rhone and Burgundy varietals simultaneously. The wines offered at the tasting room including single varietal wines including Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Roussanne, as well as a Bordeaux blend named Twisted Sisters.
