Carmel Road Description

Carmel Road Winery is located in the heart of Monterey County, where the air is crisp and the tempo is relaxed and measured. For years, the region was considered too cold and windy to grow world-class grapes. Today, Monterey boasts some of the most highly acclaimed AVAs in all of California. Since 1999, Carmel Road has been producing stunning Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from some of Monterey's finest benchland vineyards, using innovative and sustainable farming and winemaking practices.

At Carmel Road, they have tailored their viticulture and winemaking techniques to capture the compelling character of the unique climate and soils. Carmel’s Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are known for their rich flavors, firm acidity and brilliant varietal flavors. Their unique barrel regime, harvest protocols and clonal and rootstock combinations give Carmel’s winemaker, Ivan Giotenov, more than 110 unique lots from which to create his final blends. Carmel Road welcomes guests to come try their unique and delicious creations.
