Charles Creek has an excellent location on the downtown Sonoma Plaza where people stop by for the welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. Walking in, you can't miss the giant cow made of wine corks (affectionately named "Ms. Moo-Lot"). The tasting room staff is extremely knowledgeable and able to offer incredible detail on the winemaking and wine styles behind this relatively small (8,000 case) winery.
After many years of successfully growing wine grapes on Sonoma Mountain, owners Bill and Gerry Brinton decided in 2002 to create their own brand, Charles Creek.
Specializing in high quality Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from great vineyard sources in the Sonoma and Napa valleys, Charles Creek produces wines that are food friendly, fruit driven, and easily paired with the courses of a meal. They also produce Syrah, Grenache, and two chocolate wines.
Charles Creek has a list of contracted growers it sources its grapes from, including such well-known vineyards as Hyde Vineyards (Carneros/Napa), Sangiacomo Vineyards (Carneros/Sonoma) and Stage Coach Vineyard (Napa).
