The 100-year-old adobe structure -- the Clayhouse itself -- really is the ideal
symbol for this vineyard. Like the adobe, the wines are created from the earth, cultivated by hand, and nurtured by family traditions.
For the Middleton family, those traditions and deep passion for agricultural businesses go back more than four generations. Today, Clayhouse extends that proud legacy with its selection of exceptional wines, all hand-crafted in a refined, elegant style that reflects the unique character of Paso Robles.
The wine style at Clayhouse are essentially inspired by their estate Red Cedar Vineyard, just east of Paso Robles. At Red Cedar, the varied terrain, elevations, slopes and microclimates have been carefully established as distinctive individual varietal and clonal selection blocks. Each bottling is carefully crafted from selected grapes, hand-picked from small vineyard blocks that over the years have proven their ability to produce exciting wines.
Wines produced include, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Late Harvest Zinfandel, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Red Blend, Red Rhone Blend, Syrah and Zinfandel.
