About This Winery
+ More
Deep Sea represents our ongoing search for maritime influenced vineyards of merit and singularity. These wines reflect their origins and the impact of California’s coastal climate. California’s appellations are ideally influenced throughout the growing season by the unique climes created by the Pacific Ocean. The ethereal ‘fog-like wave’ on the label references the focus of Deep Sea wines showcasing the impact of this natural cooling on some of California’s most recognized maritime appellations.
The Conway family includes Chris and Ann Conway and their five children, Gareth, John, Sally, Tom and Gillian. All seven of us share ownership in Conway Family Wines, producer of Deep Sea and Rancho Arroyo Grande wines.
The Deep Sea wines are sourced from select and notable Central Coast California vineyards that share the complexities associated with California’s maritime-influenced appellations. Vineyards include those founds in the following AVA’s:
* Central Coast AVA: California’s second largest AVA
* Monterey County: Including 9 AVAs, exhibiting exemplary conditions for high quality, cool-climate viticulture
* Santa Barbara AVA’s: Including Santa Maria Valley and Santa Rita HIlls
* Los Carneros AVA: Cool-climate varietals develop a crisp acidity and moderate sugar levels
The Deep Sea Wine Tasting Room is located on Stearns Wharf in picturesque Santa Barbara, California! The newly renovated space features 360 degree views of the Pacific coastline, Channel Islands, and the Santa Barbara Harbor and Riviera. There is no better place to sip and savor Conway Family Wines, all while taking in the breathtaking views from their outdoor deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
