Cornell Winery Description

The winery is located in the historic town of old Cornell across from Peter Strauss Ranch and next door to The Old Place restaurant and Charme D Antan French antiques. Outdoors are landscaped walks, comfortable tables under eucalyptus trees and wandering peacocks, unique to the immediate area.

Indoors, the space is open and inviting, lit with sconces & chandeliers and full of brightly colored local art and gifts. Copper ceiling, wood floors and throw rugs make the atmosphere very cozy and relaxed. There are 3 tasting areas: the bar, 2 small tables and a large banquet table in the rear.

Check out their upscale art gallery with work of a few local artists and photographers. Also find many gift items from wine accessories to jewelry and unique household goods and food items such as sauces, mustards & pasta.

There is a banquet room for private parties. The Old Place restaurant next door will cater to parties and deliver appetizers to tasting customers. Customers  may also buy bottles of wine from Cornell to take to The Old Place for dinners with a reduced corkage fee.

Wasted Trip

Made a special trip out there today as their website said they represented over 20 wineries but did not mention anything about tasting fees or menu. Upon entry it looked like the local wine store and a great place to taste. I asked for a tasting menu and was given a piece of paper that had 4 wines for $10. I told the girl that I read that it was 8 wines for $15. She said that was an old policy. Since she made no effort to enlarge the tasting experience I turned to leave and as I walked out the door she said "that's how we roll here". This place is the worst wine tasting bar to represent other wineries ever.
