Crystal Valley Cellars Description

NOW CLOSED  --

This was what it was like.....

Crystal Valley Cellars was originally founded in 1980 by Mitch Cosentino and later evolved into Napa Valley’s Cosentino Winery. In April 2001, Crystal Valley Cellars was re-established as a winery dedicated to the production of fine wines from grapes grown outside Napa Valley.

At Crystal Valley Cellars, as at his other two wineries, Mitch Cosentino takes a "micro" approach to winemaking. The winery focuses on small, distinctive vineyard lots, allowing the fruit sources and varietal characteristics to determine the blends.

The European-style tasting room is a comfortable space, with a fireplace and ample tasting counter, set well away from the busy highway. They pour a mix of wines, including their “Cigar Zin,” Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay. Tours are offered by request or by appointment.

Good wine but gone!
chuko,
A few years ago I visited this winery and was very impressed - loved the wines and still have a few bottles laying down in my cellar. Went back yesterday with some friends and the tasting room was cleared out and no one there - clearly closed although the signage is still there. I was pretty disappointed - will need to check out their Napa location....
