Located on Stearns Wharf in beautiful Santa Barbara, the Deep Sea Wine Tasting room is a wonderful new addition to Conway Family Wines. The tasting room is on the pier and has a 360-degree view of the surrounding Pacific Ocean and coastline, the Channel Islands, and the Santa Barbara Harbor.
Deep Sea wines exemplify the maritime influence on grapes grown in California’s coastal climate. The grapes for Deep Sea wines are grown in vineyards close to the Pacific Ocean. Fog and ocean breezes cool vineyards along the California coastline, hence the fruit grown in these maritime vineyards achieves a balanced flavor at higher acidity and lower sugar levels than those grown in warmer areas inland, creating a unique taste for these ocean-influenced wines.
Conway Family Wines purchase fruit from noteworthy vineyards in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties and the Napa Valley. They work with growers to formulate viticultural practices and the rows are farmed to their specifications. As with Conway estate vineyards, they concentrate on quality rather than yield per acre, and carefully hand pick the grapes when they reach the right balance of flavor, acidity and sugar.
The Deep Sea Tasting Room welcomes visitors to come meander down the wharf and enjoy a glass of Conway Family Wine while taking in the awe-inspiring view of the ocean.
