Dunning Vineyards Estate Winery Description
Along Niderer Road you come to the dirt driveway entrance to what at first feels like a nature retreat or private campground. Then you spot the new stucco winery building with its large wooden doors under the mature oak trees and feel you are in the right place to taste big, bold red wines.
The grounds are pristine as you follow the path up to the tasting room and their large outdoor patio space. There are wooden benches, tables and remnants of an old wagon that look out over a peaceful secluded valley.
Bob and Jo-Ann Dunning are the Owners & Winemakers, and you will find them greeting guests and pouring their wines in the tasting room. Inside the charming interior there are watercolor paintings on the walls and a small tasting bar. The estate grown vineyard designated wines are made in small lots with most bottlings well under 500 cases.

Besides their Chardonnay they concentrate on their big meaty red wines that can all handle 7 to 10 years of aging. Wonderful Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfandel as well as a Cabernet Franc make up their tasting options. They are worth a visit--find them at the "End of the Road".

Dunning Vineyardsjavfun, Monrovia This has been one of my favorite wineries in the Paso area, one of the so called "Far out wineries"; it's a little out of the way, but definitely worth the visit. They make some of the best Cabs in the area, also try the Vin de Casa. The grounds are simple but beautiful , and you can meet the winemakers on any given day. I don't make it to the winery as often as I would like, so I became a member of the wine club.

A must seeaSLOgal, San Luis Obispo Beautiful grounds! One of my top three favorite Paso wineries.
I'd buy a few cases of both you favorite Merlot and Cabs to keep for years and share with friends. They recommend aging many, which is nice so you can reminisce about your tasting in a few years.
Definitely worth a stop if you're touring Paso wineries!
