Dutton-Goldfield Winery Description

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir dominate the vineyards of the Green Valley Appellation and are the specialty of the boutique Dutton-Goldfield Winery.

The winery and tasting room share space with Balletto Estate Vineyards. You can taste both wineries’ offerings at the new tasting room on Occidental Road. Outside, there is a large trellis sheltering picnic tables. Inside is a stylish room with tile floors, a concrete tasting bar and original art, maps and photographs on the walls.

The Dutton name is well known in the Russian River area as one of the early grape growers in the area who established high-quality Pinot Noir vineyards. Son Steve Dutton grew up around tractors and vines and now manages over 1,000 acres of the family’s grape business. Dan Goldfield is a chemist with a Master’s Degree in Enology from UC Davis. After working at Mondavi, Schramsberg, Hartford Court and La Crema Wineries, the two teamed up to create their own Burgundian-style winery.

Using fruit from carefully chosen vineyards, Dan produces wine that reflects the natural tendencies of the area: crisp, well-structured wines that display complexity, balance and intensity.
