Dutton Estate Winery is in the Russian River Valley located near the small town of Sebastopol. Once a dominant apple-growing region, Sebastopol is now a destination hide-away and home to the winery’s founders, Joe and Tracy Dutton.
The tasting room is right off the highway and located in a 1940's era ranch home surrounded by their vineyards and a lovely picnic area. Inside the charming home are wood floors and a L shaped tasting counter. A gift shop is in the parlor and a picnic table is out on the deck.
Joe and Tracy’s agricultural heritage is deeply rooted in Sebastopol, as Tracy’s great-grandparents began farming apples in the 1920’s and today continues growing apples and grapes at the family’s recognized farm and food production facility in Forestville at Kozlowski Farms.
The winery produces vineyard-designated pinot noir, chardonnay, syrah and sauvignon blanc from the family’s estate vineyards at Dutton Ranch in the Green Valley and Russian River Valley. Given their commitment to green farming, the Duttons must monitor their ranches constantly. They employ an entomologist who visits every vineyard weekly, alert to leaf hoppers, mites, sharpshooters or other unwanted pests.
