E & J Gallo Description

Since brothers Ernest and Julio Gallo began to turn their dream into reality over 75 years ago, the roots of the Gallo family tree have extended deep into the Winery. Today their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren work in the Winery, carrying on the family tradition and values – a strong work ethic, a drive for perfection and a focus on quality.

Today, E. & J. Gallo Winery is the world's largest family-owned winery and the largest exporter of California wine.

Some Facts about Gallo:

E. & J. Gallo Winery actively markets over 60 brands including table and sparkling wines, malt beverage products, dessert wines and distilled spirits. Fourteen of our brands are imported from countries including: Argentina, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, and South Africa.

E. & J. Gallo owns seven wineries and more than 15,000 acres of vineyards across the state of California. In addition, the company maintains contracts with growers around the state that assist with yearly supply.

E. & J. Gallo Winery has led the way in developing and refining new environmentally friendly practices such as minimizing the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides, recycling and reusing processed water, creating new wetlands and protecting existing riparian habitats.
