Eckert Estate Winery Description
Look for the barrels along the dirt road to find the small, simple house that serves as the Eckert Estate tasting room. On the property is a vineyard growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre and Charbono. There are also dozens of olive trees that produce Eckert’s own local olive oil. (There are regularly scheduled tours of the olive mill on the first and third Saturdays of each month.) The casual setting at Eckert Estate Winery makes it an easy place to relax, taste wines, and even sample some olive oil.
The 20’ by 25’ tasting room has a bit of a country boutique feeling to it, with three small tasting counters serving up a dozen wines, and gourmet food and gift items for sale. They produce an eclectic array of handcrafted wines from Italian and Rhone varietals – many that you don’t customarily find in a tasting room. In addition to their estate wines, they produce Viognier, Semillon, Barbera, Dolcetto, Carignane and Malbec.

Simple PleasuresJoe, San Diego I felt this winery in my heart, while visiting it was as if I was being welcomed into someones home-and they immediately offered me a glass of wine. Beautiful land covered with olive trees and vineyards, I love olives and their oil is delicious. Although the wine was what I truly came to enjoy, and I did. I loved trying their Malbec and Semillion it was such a wonderful trip. I left with a few bottles of wine and a few more bottles of their olive oil.
