EDMOND AUGUST Sauret, is a Paso Robles native, former wine shop owner, winery partner, wine writer, and fuel supplier to the vineyard industry. He founded EDMOND AUGUST™ Wines in 2008 which is a small producer of flavorful rich wines made from low-yield intense-quality grapes sourced from the finest available Paso Robles vineyards, such as Torrin, Alta Colina, and Caliza vineyards. Edmond August Sauret has watched the wine industry bloom in Paso Robles and is proud to be part of the tradition of wine-making in this county.
The winemaker is Jacob Toft, who has learned his craft working for and with some of Paso’s cutting-edge producers. Jacob has his own brand which has received high praise from among others such as the Wine Advocate, Robert Parker.
EDMOND AUGUST™ proclaims Paso Robles has a marvelous climate and soils in which to grow the great Rhone Varieties: Syrah, Grenach, Mourvedre, Viognier, Roussanne, Grenach Blanc and more. They create many blends of these varietals. They believe that in many cases the blends of these varieties can be as interesting (or more so) than wines composed of single varieties. Their first wines are intensely flavorful wines true to varietal type.
Wine tasting is by appointment only, but tours of the winery are also available if interested. EDMOND AUGUST™ also offers to bring their wines to wine-enthusiast events.
