Falkner Winery Description

Falkner Winery is built on the crest of a 1,500-foot hill and offers visitors spectacular views from its rustic front porch and its “back yard” grassy lawn. The wood-sided, vine-covered building houses an eclectic tasting room and gift shop.

Inside the tasting room, wooden beams and a long tasting counter create a warm, friendly ambiance for visitors. Outside are sculptures, picnic areas and an outside tasting bar. Their modern Pinnacle Restaurant clings to the nearby south-facing hillside, providing exceptional dining options and event spaces.

The winery produces estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, White Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Viognier and some proprietary blends, including a “Super Tuscan” blend of four different grapes. Chardonnay, Riesling, Syrah and port are also produced. Try their semi-sweet “Luscious Lips” red wine or the “Sweet Loretta” for a memorable dessert.

The wines are made with the intent of providing full fruit flavors with a soft, clean finish. Most of their red wines age at least three years before their release, allowing tannins to soften and subtle flavors to develop.

jlocm8,
Mostly dry wines. A very interesting wine is called Luscious Lips. They said it was the sweest regular wine, but I didn't find it horribly sweet. I really enjoyed the port! It is very unique, very sweet, and very good!

I enjoyed the experience that I had at the Faulkner Vineyard. I had the pleasure of tasting the Riesling--it was simply luscious, filled with the flavors of pear. I enjoyed the tasting room also, it was filled with warmth and wood paneling. I ended up having dinner at the nearby Pinnacle Restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious. I would recommend any of their dishes.
