Forchini is still true to its mission of remaining a small, family owned estate in Dry Creek Valley. The tasting room is situated right up the hill from Dry Creek Road, offering beautiful views of the valley floor.
A former aerospace engineer, owner Bill Forchini and his wife Anita tend to their property with pride. Starting in 1996 with a production of only 426 cases of Zinfandel, today their production hovers around 3000 cases annually, with a lineup of six award winning estate grown, produced and bottled wines. Wine made include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir a Tuscan style blend and their old vine Zinfandel.
Sourcing grapes from their Dry Creek Bench and Russian River Terraces Vineyards, they focus on cultivating intensely flavored varietals. 12 acres are dedicated to 90 year old Zin vines. They also are proponents of co-fermenting grape varietals together rather than blending completed component wines after fermentation. They believe that this results in greater extracted flavor and more complex structure to their wines.
