Goldeneye Winery Description

Anderson Valley is an ideal spot for quality vineyards and quality winemaking. Goldeneye’s wine-tasting experience, with its sit-down service and lovely gardens, is one of the best in the valley—but you must like Pinot Noir, as it is all they produce.

The comfortable farmhouse tasting room is set up as a private living room, serving guests at their tasting table. Enjoy the little “nibbles” that accompany your tasting, or go all out and reserve a VIP tasting experience with a broader selection of food items. Be sure to go outside and take in one of the best “back yards” in the valley. For a relaxing break, check out the Adirondack chairs that surround the winery fountain and overlook the vines. There is also a large patio with tables, chairs and umbrellas that looks out over the tranquil scene.

Part of the Duckhorn Wine Company group of wineries, Goldeneye focuses their production on the great grape of Burgundy, making four versions of the wine. The winery blends grapes from four estate vineyards, which are planted to 23 clones of Pinot Noir on 11 different rootstocks, creating terroir-inspired fruit. All the fruit comes from the Anderson Valley Appellation.

It Must Be The Pinot
Holly, Pasadena
I was able to sit back and relax and enjoy the gorgeous view that is known as the Anderson Valley while tasting a variety of Pinot Nior and the delicious little tasties that Goldeneye serves as well. I went alone and left with several bottles of wine and a few phone numbers of newly made friends. Next time I will call in advance and arrange a VIP visit, although that is not to discourage you of just stopping by.
