Grove Street Winery Description

Small, focused, premium, friendly and intimate. That is what you find at Grove Street Winery, just a few blocks off the highway and a couple of miles from Healdsburg’s downtown square.

The winery’s website warns you not to be misled when you visit their tasting room. The winery is not surrounded by bucolic country landscapes, blessed with sweeping vistas of vineyards, or steeped in historical significance. It is on Grove Street (really), which is in the industrial part of town, but the cheerful hospitality and quality wine-tasting experience will make it worth your effort to find.

Outside, a small lawn and a few flower beds lead you to the glass doors of the operation. Inside is a hip “industrial-chic” space for tasting located in the midst of the winery operation. A wooden grape press sits in the corner, and stacks of cases and a few rows of barrels fill out the warehouse interior.

The winery focuses on super-premium, award-winning, limited-production Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit is sourced from various areas including Mendocino, Sonoma, Napa and Lake Counties. A super-premium reserve wine named after the philanthropic owner is occasionally produced when all the elements line up. This Peter Paul offering is very limited and available only in selected retail establishments and restaurants.

It may not be in the Country...
Lucy, San Jose
I am one who prefers the quaint little villa amidst the rolling hills of vineyards, I love the scent in the air, and the natural beauty. There is something about seeing where the grapes are coming from and knowing that you are tasting the product of their hard work. And while this winery is far from any country side it still held a unique quality. The Chardonnay was crisp and ended up being my favorite.
