Hall Winery Description
Hall St. Helena Winery, a historic Napa Valley winery originally founded in 1885 as Bergfeld Winery, was long known as the Napa Valley Co-op, and was one of the primary winemaking facilities in Napa for much of the last century. Today, a redesigned visitor center and tasting room welcome visitors with warmth and elegance.
Guests to the winery can sample the portfolio of HALL wines, relax in arbor-covered courtyards and take in original works of modern art and sculpture from the Halls' personal collection. Future plans for the winery include restoring the historic buildings on the grounds and developing a spectacular visitor center.
A huge sculpture standing well over ten feet tall guides you to the tasting room entrance. Once inside, don’t forget to look upward at the commissioned blown-glass sculpture “Red Rain” (stylized Cabernet drops) that graces the redwood interior. The wine production focus is on Bordeaux varietals, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, with three versions currently available. Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc round out the winery’s limited production.
A VIP program guides you through the winery grounds, tasting the current releases and visiting the historic Bergfeld Winery, where you will sample wines still in the barrel. Advance reservations are required, and the fee is $20 per guest. The Halls also have a facility in Rutherford available for tours and tasting, also by reservation only.
