Hearthstone Vineyard & Winery Description

Hearthstone's 40 acre vineyard is located in the heart of historic Adelaida, west of Paso Robles. The vineyard sits at 1400 feet surrounded by wooded hillsides. The soils are shallow clay and limestone, which, along with their natural farming methods, contribute to the intense flavors of their fruit.

The newly opened tasting room offers visitors a range of 100% estate grown wines to taste, including their counter top "barrel sample" from their cellar. The winery is built into the slope of the hillside and is naturally cooled. The gift shop has apparel, glassware and photographs for sale. Outside there is a small fountain, shade and tables to sit and enjoy the countryside views.

Hearthstone focuses on red wines producing 11 such wines including a number of good Rhone offerings, Zinfandel, Cabernet and Pinot Noir. Also look for their Sangiovese and a California Italian blend. Their food friendly wines are available at many fine shops and restaurants in the area at the winery and through their wine club.

Nice wines, great view

Nice wines, I love the "Slipstone" as it is Grenache based, the "Lodestone" is really nice as well and if anyone is looking for a crisp/clean Viognier their "Pearl" is definitely worth buying. The tasting room is very simple and basic (aka not much of a gift shop) which I enjoy as it is focused on the wine quality. But, a highlight is some really impressive photography prints by a local freelance photographer that are for sale, very interesting and tasteful.

Excellent, unique blends

Don't be fooled by the less than extravagant tasting room here. They are making great wine. Dawn gave us a very nice tasting and we purchased the award winning Slipstone, their Grenache, Syrah blend. The Sangiovese, Syrah, Cab blend was also a winner.
