Keyways Vineyard & Winery Description
Off the beaten track on De Portola Road is the home of a charming early-California-style winery and tasting room with a history dating back to the region’s early days of grape growing. Keyways Winery has gone through an extensive makeover, with an expanded production facility, newly remodeled tasting room and lushly landscaped grounds.
Keyways was the name of one of the first vineyards in the area that proved the viability of growing quality wine grapes in Temecula. Today it is the first and only winery in Temecula that is owned and managed by a woman. The tasting room has a rustic yet elegant environment, with a Brazilian onyx-topped tasting bar, cozy fireplace and unique gift shop.
New vines have been planted to Rhone varieties to complement the Bordeaux wines that are currently being produced. For something very exotic try their “Ice Wine,” which is a sweet wine made from grapes left on the vine well into winter, concentrating the fruit and natural sugars.

Wedding Disasterbeachgirly, Costa Mesa I used to love Keyways, the tasting room ambience, the quality of the wines, etc. I decided to get married there and that was a whole other story. From the planning process, staff was unorganized, not capable of giving us a true picture of what we can expect and the service did not meet the price that they charge for the event. Charged us up-front for the 20% staff service charge for the reception
and the bartender brought a tip jar. Bar tender was by
herself, elderly and broke several corks trying to open the
wine. Servers were slow, one half of the reception was
finished with their dinner by the time the other half was just
getting their food. They did not clean the restrooms from
their normal day traffic and men's restroom had urine on
the floor, along with tissue. On top of all that, winery
charged our credit card, without our authorization, after the
fact for guests that were not there. We had 10% no show
and the winery has charged us for the extra plates, on top
of that. We complained and the owner and the operations manager, did not offer a refund and/or compensation for the terrible service. How about them not giving is the bottles of wine that we paid for in the package that were not drinken? In our wildest dreams. My advice, do not get married there... it's not worth it.

Follow up visitansmom, San DIego Follow up visit after WOW tour. Very nice helpful happy staff, great wine, only disappointment they were out of 'sweet surrender' white wine. May be the best I've tried.

Best place in the valleyWino, Santa Barbara Don't miss this stop in Temecula! Beautiful place out in horse country. There is a great selection of wines to taste and a great lady pouring the the stuff. Outside there is a nice patio and places to hang out. The whites were are favorite of all we tasted that day. Highly recommended.

Best in the Valleyrsalinger, Vista We've been to quite a few wineries in the Temecula area and Keyways just seems to have consistently the best wines and very fair prices.

A must visitsimplywine, Brea I can't say enough about this little winery, it's charming, it's off the beaten path and the wine is spectacular. I have visited Keyways several times and their wine never disappoints and is always consistent (and for dessert, the Ice Wine is a must taste). If you are wine tasting in Temecula, make sure you veer off Rancho California and head towards Deportola Road for a wine tasting experience to remember.
