Kynsi Winery Description
The unpretentious Kynsi winery resides in a renovated 1940s dairy located on a backcountry road in the Edna Valley. The focus is on Burgundian-style vineyard- designated wines made in small quantities from local vineyards.
The former milk processing room, with its high, coved ceilings, serves as the tasting room. The original cold-room door leads into the wine vault and contributes to the unique character and cozy ambiance at Kynsi. There is a tile floor and a wooden tasting counter. The label features the resident barn owl that roosts in the old barn adjacent to the winery.
The family sources their grapes from select coastal vineyards, with the goal of creating lush, generously complex, elegantly balanced wines that reflect distinctive terroir and varietal character. The vineyards of Bien Nacido, Edna Valley, Edna Ranch, Barn Owl, and their own Estate Stone Corral Vineyard provide the fruit for their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Syrah and their Merlot/Syrah blend.

Best Kept Secretwinooo, August, 2007 I highly recommend Kynsi, it was one of the best wine tasting experiences I have ever had. Nice, knowledgeable staff and they have a really cute tasting room. It is definitely not a big corporate place, it's a sweet little family that runs it. They have gotten a lot of really good reviews and high scores and I can see why, their wines are gorgeous.
