La Cereza Vineyard & Winery Description

Look for the small windmill along Rancho California Road for the entrance to the brick-walled, tile-roofed tasting room of La Cereza Winery. Tulips, patios, fountains, vineyards and event spaces border lush picnic grounds. The ambiance is European in flavor and features VR and La Cereza (Spanish for cherry) premium wines.

The winery produces 22 varietals and blends including Chardonnay, Viognier, Fume Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Zinfandel, Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, a flirty Raspberry-Flavored Champagne and a Tempranillo from grapes grown in Guadalupe Valley in Mexico.

The tasting room is large, with brightly colored paintings on the walls – many of which have been used as label art for their wines. A long tasting counter and an attentive staff will assist you with your tasting.

Their sister winery, Maurice Car’rie, is next door, and you can purchase a “Passport” for tasting at both establishments. (They share the same viticulturist and winemaker, as well as crushing and fermentation facilities.)

Overall Impressions
Nice small tasting room
ansmom, San Diego
Very nice smaller winery/tasting room. They had nice grounds, my kids ran around while I sampled some wines. It wasn't as crowded as the larger wineries on the road but I found it pleasant. I like the gift shop items, wines were pleasing and above average. I found the 'girlfriends' white very refreshing and not too sweet I also purchased the 'Rancho de Andallusia Merlot' it was bold but not overwhelming. All wines were good, I would recommend it.
