Linne Calodo Description

Tucked away on a private drive in a forest of oak trees and native vegetation you will find Linne Calado Winery. The winery was established in 1998 and is family owned and operated. The winery name describes the distinctive limestone soils present on the west side of Paso Robles where all of the grapes utilized to make the wineries’ 4,000 annual cases are grown.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the winery dogs, Bear and Marley. Once the dogs have made you feel right at home, you enter the intimate tasting room, which has a rustic and authentic feel, as it is located in the winery’s barrel room. Gazing beyond the small tasting bar, you can catch a glimpse of hundreds of stacked barrels that hold the fruits of the family’s labor of love. If you want to get a little more intimate with the barrels and their contents, barrel sampling can be arranged by appointment.

All of Linne Calado’s wines are unfiltered and unfined and balanced through the blending of Rhone and Zinfandel varieties. The Linne Calado wines are driven by sustainable farming practices and minimalist wine making that allows them to produce wines that are rich and concentrated. Be sure to try Sticks and Stones, a blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah, which the winery is well known for.

Some of the best wine that the Paso Robles region has to offer. A little pricier, however well worth it.

I really enjoyed the wines offered by Linne Calado, especially Sticks and Stones. I'm looking forward to checking out their new tasting room when it opens.
