Longshadow Ranch Vineyard & Winery Description

Horses, wine, music and hospitality greet visitors to this eclectic, rustic
off-the-beaten-track venue. Great Belgian Draft horses frolic in their pastures, while regular weekend and often weekday live music is presented in the grassy, tree-shaded “front yard.”

Six generations of winemaking have created this lovely spot in which to enjoy the afternoon or weekend evening. The winery offers horse-drawn carriage wine-tasting trips through the vineyards, as well as trail rides through the hills of the Temecula Valley.

Inside the simple wood-paneled tasting room is a mix of wines, gift items and an artistic tangle of grape vines hanging over the small tasting counter. A cow hide hangs on the wall, and oriental rugs cover the floors.

The winery makes richly flavored California varietals including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, White Merlot, Muscat, Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and a zesty Zinfandel Port. Wines are available only in the tasting room.

"<--Restrooms and Goats this way" Ok. But seriously, I enjoyed the quirky nature of this place. The big Belgian draft horses stabled nearby and the western feel of the small tasting room made this different from all the other wineries. I had very little budget that day and ran home with their White Merlot. It was a refreshing and unique wine I could not leave without.

This is an out of the way place but worth finding. It is in the countryside and looks like a very fun place to be during one of their outdoor concert events. Grassy lawn, BBQ etc. The place has horses near but we focused on the wines which were richly flavored and very pleasing and easy to drink!
