Up a beautifully landscaped drive is the hilltop home of Miramonte Winery, specializing in Rhone varietals and a range of familiar California varietal wines. The beige-colored, red-tile-roofed winery has a spacious tasting room with a lovely patio; they host a number of wine and music events throughout the year.
Entrepreneur Cane Vanderhoof started Miramonte Winery in 2001 with a commitment to produce wines of depth, character and sophistication. The winemaking style focuses on “intensity, individuality, regional distinction and elegance of expression.” The winemaking crew believes in minimal intervention in order to allow for the best natural expression of the fruit. In addition to those grown in their own vineyard, they purchase grapes from other regions in California as well.
The winery produces a range of interesting wines, including the classic California varietals and their estate Syrah, Viognier, Riesling, and even some old-vine Zinfandel from Cucamonga fruit. Two sparkling wines are available, and if you like, they offer custom hand-etched bottles for your special events or corporate gifts.
