Mitchell Katz Winery Description
Mitchell Katz Winery the man and the winery has created an oasis of true artisan winemaking in the Livermore Valley. Having established his home of the site of the historic Ruby Hill Winery, Mitchell Katz Winery harkens back to the golden years of winemaking in the region, known as the Golden Crescent.
Handcrafting small batches of estate and vineyard designated varietals, Mitch offers visitors a first class wine tasting experience. Mitchell Katz Winery creates affordable wines based on a wide range of varietals, including Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Port, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The winery is an impressive stone building surrounded by gardens, fountains and vineyards. The entry drive is lined with giant Palm trees leading to a dramatic fountain. The expansive tasting room has tile floors and a long granite topped tasting bar. The winery is best known for its rich Cabernet Sauvignon and bright Sangiovese.

Excellent stopjdlivermore, Livermore A new favorite among the Livermore wineries. Variety of wines to taste plus barrel tasting. Cozy fire with seating. They kept the cheese and crackers well stocked. I enjoyed the merlot and fat boy red. A great visit.

Winemaker has done well!zinlover, Modesto We just adored this winery, the staff was excellent, treated us like family. The wines were excellent, we were given complimentary barrel samples and purchased futures at a a great price of the yummy FAT BOY. An excellent value for wine tasting for $5.00 we tried 7 wines! The welcoming staff gave us cheese and dark chocolate. The grounds are beautiful next time we are bringing a pic-nic lunch. Mitchell Katz Winery makes great wine for a great price! Their Sangiovese was to die for, and their Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, now we know we he has won so many awards.
