Tucked up against a hillside covered with vineyards is the attractive new home of Oak Mountain Winery. The Spanish-tiled roof, stucco walls and newly planted grounds create a winery oasis with striking views to the south and east.

The current tasting room shares space with dozens of barrels and a long
granite-topped tasting counter. Small amounts of gift items are for sale. Also available to taste here are wines from Temecula Hills Winery, which include a number of Rhone varietals.

Oak Mountain Winery combines the use of century-old winemaking techniques with modern-day technology to create handcrafted Bordeaux varietal wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc. A number of other wines are also available, including Zinfandel, Viognier, Chardonnay, White Merlot, sparkling wine, Port and a couple of blends.

An underground cave cellar, an 1,800-square-foot tasting room and a café are scheduled to open in 2008.
