I actually went to the tasting room in Monterey on Calle Principal, near Alvarado St. The tasting room is actually the TerraNova tasting room, but Ottercove calls this their new tasting room on their website, so I went there. ,One interesting special amenity was the tasting machine. They have an automatic dispenser where you can pay for the wine by the taste - $1.60 or so depending on the wine. I wasn't actually nuts about trying wine this way, but I suppose it is an interesting way to try several wines that you would not get to taste otherwise. The staff was very friendly, easy-going and knowledgeable. My favorite wines was TOTALLY the 2007 Riesling!!! Oh, I love this wine! Not too dry, The Gewurztraminer and Sauvingnon Blanc was fine also, and I did like the Pinot Noir - and I normally am not a red wine lover. I recommend stopping at this tasting room. Reasonable prices, nice location.
