Peachy Canyon Winery Description
Right off Highway 46 west is the Old Bethel School house, now tasting room for Peachy Canyon Winery. You pass under the timbered entry and take a trip back to simpler times. The old school house (circa 1886) is wonderful place to taste the rich Peachy Canyon wines.
The property offers a quaint, homey tasting experience with an old-fashioned gazebo, and a park-like visitors' picnic area, all bordered by rolling vineyards and native oak trees. The extensive gift shop is packed with picnic baskets, relishes, dips, sauces, wine gift bags, stemware, colorful pottery, logo clothing and wine accessories. The two tasting counters and lovely outdoor areas give you plenty of room to relax and taste.
Red wine is the theme here as no whites are produced. They make 15 different wines and blends with eight different Zinfandel offerings, including a Zinfandel rose and a late harvest dessert wine. To make their wine they combine age-old and modern "pioneering" wine grape growing techniques with traditional fermentation methods to produce full flavored, regionally distinct wines. Peachy Canyon grapes come from four west side vineyards where they grow Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Syrah. From purchased grapes they produce Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and a Rhone style blend.
