Penman Springs Vineyard Description
This small, rustic, hillside operation has a history going back 25 years when the vineyard was first planted. The family run winery makes rich red wines and a few memorable whites. Its a simple placd where a member of the family will most likely be pouring your wines.
The property at one time housed the Grey Wolf winery until they relocated to their present location outside Paso Robles. The vineyard has been updated by grafting over the previous white varieties to Syrah and Petite Sirah; they join Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Muscat.
As you drive up the gravel lane to the rustic tasting room entrance, you are greeted by a simple country-style structure with a wrought iron bench, a barrel or two and a small fountain. Inside the small cottage is a wood burning stove and a room crowded with wine accessories, logo clothes and some interesting oils and spreads with the Penman Springs label. On a table are jigsaw puzzles waiting to be put together.

One of the bestanlmeden, Paso Robles August, 2008 One of the great family wineries in Paso Robles. Staff are friendly and care about your tasting expirience. Great wine at very reasonable prices.

Love the CabernetTed_H, Atascadero August, 2007 I've visited and purchased wine from Penman on several occasions. The '03 and '04 Cabernets have been by far my favorites. Although, many of their other selections are definitely worth a taste. In fact, I'd recommend any of their Estate wines, really.
They have a few souvenir-type items available if you want to bring something in addition to wine home with you too.
