Rancho Ventavo Cellars Description

The winery was started by Faye Hawes and George Gilpatrick  who are dedicated to produce handcrafted, small lot, artisan wines from select vineyards across California.

Located in downtown Oxnard at Heritage Square, Rancho Ventavo Cellars tasting room is located in one of Oxnard's oldest homes, The Scarlett House, built in 1902. From the moment you enter the tasting room you will be surrounded by old-time craftsmanship and warmth that only an old home can express. With the hardwood floors, leaded glass doors and windows, stamped tin ceilings, oak paneled walls and an inviting fireplace, your visit to Rancho Ventavo Cellars will be a memorable one.

As a "red wine" only winery, the wines feature forward fruit qualities that offer intense, ripe fruit characteristics balanced with good acid structure, full-bodied mouth feel, and silky tannins.

Great Time In Oxnard
ahsumfun@hotmail.com, Simi Valley
Was a dreary day so we decided to go wine tasting at some of the local wineries. Rancho Ventavo Cellars was our favorite of the day. Unlike the others situated in an industrial setting, they are in a lovely old home in downtown Oxnard. Owners Faye & George were present and we had a wonderful time tasting and talking about the wines and their winemaking philosophy. A must stop! We joined their wine club!
