Red Soles Winery Description

Red Soles Winery tasting room is fairly new to the wine tasting scene in Paso Robles, but owners Randy and Cheryl Phillips have been in the business of growing grapes for over two decades.

Everything about the winery illustrates the family driven nature of the endeavor, from the wines, to the red foot prints that form the signature emblem of the winery. The name, and the red soles themselves are indicative of the winery’s first crush, which the owners completed with their own feet!

The tasting room is quaint, yet elegant and surrounded by lush landscaping that compliments the beauty of the location. Upon entering the tasting room, you will feel immediately at home and welcomed by the roaring fireplace, comfy couches and a u-shaped tasting bar that beckons you to come up, enjoy some wine and chat with the proprietors themselves.

At the bar, you will have the opportunity to sample many of their 13 estate wines, including chardonnay, viognier, zinfandel, petit syrah, cabernet and dessert wines. The winery has spacious picnic and lounging areas on both their front and back porches, where you are invited to take you wine, sit back, relax and stay for awhile.

A Pleasant New Stop
Eagle12, Schaumburg
What a beautiful tasting room, my wife and I loved the mustard colored stucco look and the warmth feel once your inside. Most of the wine we tried we freshly bottled except one and they all were nice. I purchased a blend named Sunday Nights, it is a blend and the story of how the wine was named was enough for me to purchase a bottle if not to drink, but for a conversation piece.

A lesser known GEM

Randy and Cheryl are wonderful, and their wines are a reflection of them and their efforts. The tasting room hasn't been open for long but the Phillips have been in the wine making business for a couple of decades now. The tasting room is warm and very friendly, and the Phillips themselves pour on weekends. Their wines are full and lush without being fruit bombs. Choosing a favorite would be nearly impossible, but don't miss the Syrah or the "Flip-Flop", a blend of Chardonnay and Viognier. Their two rose wines are lovely, with the drier "Loose Laces" just edging out the "Loverboy" in our book. If you're lucky enough to come across their Petite Syrah you are in for a real treat. Just be sure to save some for me!

Great Late Harvets Viogner

What a pleasure it was to visit Red Soles Winery! The gardens are just magnificent and the owner himself poured wine for me. Don't miss out on the 2006 Stiletto, a wonderful later harvest viognier.
