Robert Hall Winery Description

From Highway 46 you cannot miss this impressive red bricked monument sitting amongst a large vineyard tract. The arched entryways lead you to the hospitality center & tasting room featuring a Ramada framed exterior facade with an artisan stained walkway.

There is a staircase fountain and a courtyard overlooking reflecting pools that lead to a grand open-air amphitheater that is used for weddings, concerts, and dinners. Around the corner is their immense tasting room and gift shop with painted concrete floors, oriental rugs, 40 foot ceilings and twelve foot doorways.

Inside, the warm mustard colored interior compliments their sky painted ceiling, the windowed rectangular dome and the huge chandelier. The hall is filled with wonderful pottery, wine accessories, clothing, gourmet jams and sauces, cookbooks, and an extensive cheese and meat deli case. Outside looking west is an expansive picnic deck with glass topped tables and a BBQ. To make your stay even more fun, two traditional Bocce Ball courts can be reserved for your use.

Underground are 19,000 square feet of wine caves including rooms big enough to host 125 people for sit down dinners. The winery is overbuilt to accommodate their own production and that of seven other wineries that use their facility. The winery hosts special events throughout the year including food and wine seminars and an outdoor concert series.

They have three unique estate vineyards in the area and grow 17 different grape varieties, concentrating on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. They also produce additional Rhone style varietals, and blends, plus Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Typical Hwy 46 winery
LoupyLouie, Livermore
For me, if you want great wine in Paso you have to get off Hwy 46. This winery is a good example of that. Nice tasting room, but a little corporate. Staff was knowledgeable, but all business and not especially friendly. The wines were mostly OK, with some good top end wines.

I really felt like the Staff was rushing us around. We went on the cave tour and the person who took us wasn't very friendly or informative. I wasn't too impressed with the wines either, but that could have been because of my general feeling about the staff. They have a great gift shop though.

Great Time!
winediva, San Diego
Some friends and I visited Paso Robles for a weekend of winetasting -- the area has some of the best wines! If you enjoy Rhone-style wines, I'd definitely recommend Robert Hall Winery. The Blanc de Robles and Viognier are awesome! And I loved the Grenache and their new Pape de Robles blend. The staff in the tasting room was incredible - kudos to Milisa, Erikka & Mary for making us feel so welcome & taking the time to tell us about each wine. So many times tasting room staff do not take the time to make you feel special -- this was not the case at Robert Hall Winery! They were very helpful & even assisted us with recommendations on local restaurants. We're hoping to visit again soon for their mystery dinner theater event on Halloween with our husbands -- sounds like fun!

What a Great Wine Experience
winebitch, Fresno
OMG!! What a great time my family and I had at Robert Hall Winery. We were going to the coast for the weekend and decided to stop at a few wineries on Hwy 46. After visiting a few, we stopped at Robert Hall. As we walked up to this beautiful building we noticed a man pulling weeds in the flower bed, he got up and said hello and welcomed us, little did we know, that was Robert Hall himself. He came into the tasting room and gave us a tour himself. What a delightful man. At the end of the tour, he asked us if he could sign some bottles for us, we ended up buying a case of wine and joining there wine club. Milisa and Erikka, were awesome. As big as this place is, we felt right and home and will definitely be back. Good job to the wine making team and the hospitality team for creating a wonderful wine experience.

LOVE THIS WINERY!!!!
Luvn' WINE, San Fransisco
My family and I went to Robert Hall because one of my friends had told me they had great wine. THEY WERE RIGHT! The building is beautiful, and the welcome that we received from the staff was so wonderful. We buy Robert Hall at Trader Joe's all the time so I was very interested to taste their reserve list. TO DIE FOR! The staff was so sweet and helpful. They gave us a tour of the winery, made reservations for dinner for us, and we met Robert himself. It was great start to our trip and we ended it by joining their wine club! Kudos the Robert Hall clan! Loads of fun!

Fun Times at Robert Hall Winery
peppywinedrinkers, San Fransisco
Me and my girlfriend had such a great time at Robert Hall Winery. We received the royal treatment with an excellent winery tour and barrel samples. It just made our day!!! The tasting room was very busy but still enjoyable but the wine made up for it. All of the wine was delicious and wonderful. The staff was the most personable and friendly ladies we even joined their wine club! Wine tasters should visit check out Robert Hall Winery!

Outrageously Rude
wesconnors, Salinas
Our initial impression of Robert Hall wines and tasting room was exceptionally pleasant, until we met their staff and dealt with their management. It was a beautiful day, quiet atmosphere, and our leisurely walk by their bubbling fountain was very nice. There wines were also enjoyable, especially the syrah and sauvignon blanc, but the experience in general left a bitter taste in my mouth. We were rudely treated and ignored for 20 minutes when we were the only group (our group had 10 people) in the tasting room. When we called back to complain to management, we were again disrespectfully treated. I strongly do not recommend any visitation of this winery.

Horrible Tasting Room Service
Calpolyvc@aol.com, Carmel
Upon arriving at Robert Hall I was impressed with the overall look and feel of the winery. The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc was perfect since it was 98 Degrees outside. The hint of green apple in the wine was fabulous. The 2007 Blanc De Robles leaves a nice flavor on the tongue. The hint of honey added a lot to the overall experience of this wine. I was having a enjoyable time at Robert Hall until their Manager was rude, abrasive, and aggressive with me. I would never go back to due the customer service. I was never asked if I would like to buy a bottle or talked through the tasting. I paid $10 to be ignored and insulted. I know that companies cannot always control how their employees behave. Robert Hall is a fantastic winery, but I think it is important for customers to know when a winery has employees that will treat you unfairly. Beware when deciding to go to their tasting room. I was caught off guard to say the least.

Beautiful location but staff suffers with large groups
BrenJ, Long Beach
The winery is simply beautiful, and many of the wines match, especially the Syrah. The staff is large, and it is a shame that they couldn't seem to handle a large crowd in a more friendly manner. There was a reunion in the room next to the tasting room, and it was pretty busy. A tour bus (ugh!) also arrived in the middle of our visit. Our host was lovely but I witnessed one staff member being rather rude to two groups of visitors. Exasperation is one thing but snapping at customers is another. Go, enjoy the views, but if there is a crowd, run!

Beautiful grounds and experience
adamjf12, San Diego
It was pretty busy there when I was there but the sales individuals were not the friendliest I have dealt with. Beautiful grounds and the tour is quite fun. Beautiful grounds. The wines are good, especially their Port - this is a must try if you like port at all.

Divine Wine, Orange County
Full bodied Syrah would be superb with a barbecued meat. This is a huge impressive place to take friends. Amenities include wine caves, pools, and even an amphitheater. Friendly staff and an incredible visitors center.
